I believe that US Robotics bought them for peanuts (they needed money
desperately) at the start; and that their stock options from 3Dom were under
water most of the time (unless they were repriced egregiously); so they got
just salary and bonus and cafed mightily beczuse 3Com woulnd't do a spinoff
earlier. But Handspring's off to a strong start.
