What do all these urls have in common. Well they all look pretty on your
screen, they all talk about things the gov is doing to mess with the net,
and they all make me want to spell net F I D O .

The question arises, for how long does one put up with this, and if there
is a better place to go why dont we just build it..with locks?
I know afew of us have had the talk about the next thing to come, the
imagery of the net "that started with a kill file" (of which has been
running around for a while now in more than a few of your heads)

(1) CONGRESS RUSHES TO CENSOR THE NET. HERE WE GO AGAIN.

Congress is back in session and rushing to censor the Net again, this time
in the name of saving school children and library users from material that
is 'harmful to minors.' Yesterday Sen. John McCain introduced a bill that
would force schools and libraries with federally-subsidized Internet
access
to use software filters. Last November Sen. Dan Coats spo nsored a bill
that would criminalize the publication of material 'harmful to minors' on
the Internet.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- President Clinton treated Internet users to a
live cyberspace history lesson to honor the coming millennium. But
the historian who gave the kickoff lecture suggests the founding
fathers might have viewed the information age with apprehension
