A lot of that stuff was available in retro places
like the Corvette Diner in San Diego. I once was
behind an old-timer at the grocery store that was throwing
a bbq for his friends. he had 5 steaks, 5 packs of lucky
cigarettes, 5 packs of blackjack, 5 bottles of jack, and
5 sixers of pabst or some equivalent, 5 potatos, and 5 beefsteak
tomatos and 1 bag of ice 1 bag of kingston. I remember thinking
is that guy ever going to have a party.
I still crack up on the FoRK posting about
receiving a tv signal from thin air. How many
people remember life without VCRs and cable?
