Without a doubt, Ronin uses a McGuffin. Although arguably, Pulp Fiction
does the best job at a mysterious briefcase McGuffin.

I'm glad you're not the only who thinks that just because Claire Forlani
was betraying me to my boss should I necessarily dump her. ;-)
