huge vendor accounts have at their disposal fedex account managers whose job
is to keep huge vendor accounts from wandering off to ups - to keep fedex
market share, profits up and shareholders happy. no mystery, no outrage.
huge accounts have at their end purchasing agents and comptrollers whose job
is to keep a close eye on spending - to keep waste down, profits up and
shareholders happy. fedex is arm-wrestling popeye.

you, as an individual, are your own comptroller. you are a vigilant one
compared to most of us (bac*, are you part scottish?). you have access to a
customer service representative, whose job is to find the balance between
keeping the customer happy while not bleeding out profits. by comparison,
olive oyl vs wimpy.
