I have a point of agreement with Dave, too. Calling Applescript (or events)
from Python or Ruby would be cool. As would Applescript calling into
Unix-space scripting.

That gives me a vision of having an OS X bridge machine in my network that
somehow aids integration of my (dwindling, but quite persistant) legacy MacOS
apps with Linux. An example would be retrieving images from my fancy Polaroid
Digital cameras, without having to reverse-engineer the SCSI protocol.
