Tom, your mention of the Marquess of Queensbury's rules suggested a few
other 19th Century eponymous inventions...

1854 - George Boole describes Boolean Algebra.

1876 - [Henry] Robert's Rules of Order, first edition.
       (Twenty years after the caning of Sumner)

1867 - Marquess of Queensbury endorses new boxing rules.
