Of course they should be allowed to, or rather there should be nothing in
there way EXCEPT...for the consumer.

Every player who steps up into the ring of the market should know its a
battle. The battle is for control of power so that you can push your meme
to as mnay folks as possible and make it stick. POwer dervies from the
masses you convert, the resources you control and the longevity of your
foundations.

Examples include chirstians, disney, aybabtu, mp3's, linux, baseball, etc
etc etc.

If MS is so god damn evil and people still support them by giving them
money, who are you aiming to protect? The folks buying into MS get what
they pay for, MS gives what they will, and those who dont want to play
with MS dont have to. Ther are lots of alternatives.

Its up to the CONSUMER to decide where the power is, and they vote each
and every fucking time they pay for and MS product.

You put power into the hands of those you support. Face it, looking to the
goverment for redress on this is a sad fucking cop out.

It comes down to this one simple fact You Cant Legislate Away Percived
Stupidity.

You start legislating what folks can and cannot support and you are way
downt he road to serfdom.

The best you can do is zelot your view, educate who you can, and hope to
spread the good word wth exmaples and actions such that you either take
over the system or subvert it and replace it with your vision of goodness
(ala tom jeffersons famous escape clause)

Else wise get away from the power struggle, go live in a managed
community, or simply zone out to the soma of the day.

and thats the bottom line.
